What is Dinero?

Dinero is accounting software designed for small businesses that want to handle their own bookkeeping. Dinero is now part of Visma. You use it in your browser and log in with your Visma credentials. Integrations with other systems, such as an online store, use Dinero’s API, which requires a Dinero Pro subscription.

Contacts, Invoices, and Financial Documents

In Dinero, a customer is a contact. An invoice is created for a contact, and when it is posted, the sales amount and sales tax are recorded in the books. A financial document is an entry made without an invoice from Dinero, typically with a supporting document attached. Each amount is posted to an account in the chart of accounts, and the account’s VAT code determines how much VAT is calculated.

Dinero and Shoporama

With Shoporama’s free Dinero app, your online store orders are converted into invoices in Dinero with the customer as the contact, or into financial entries with the online store’s own invoice attached. VAT, shipping, discounts, and the payment are posted to the accounts you select, and credit entries are generated automatically. The app is free in Shoporama, but the company in Dinero must have Dinero Pro. Read how to set it up in “Set Up Dinero Integration,” or see “Online Store with Dinero.”
