Error when transferring to GLS
Overview of typical GLS transfer errors in Shoporama and solutions for them.
When you transfer orders to GLS from Shoporama, errors may occur. Here are the most common errors and their solutions.
"Not allowed to generate shipments"
This error means that your GLS customer number does not have the permissions to create shipments via the API. It must be activated by GLS.
Solution:
- Call GLS IT at 76 33 12 35
- Ask them to enable API access for your customer number
- It typically takes only a few minutes for it to be enabled
Invalid address
GLS validates the recipient’s address. If the address is incomplete or contains errors, the shipment will be rejected.
Solution:
- Verify that the order has a valid address, ZIP code, and city
- Check that the country code is correct (e.g., DK for Denmark)
- Remove any special characters or invalid characters from the address fields
Incorrect package shop ID
If the customer has selected pickup store delivery, but the pickup store ID is invalid or the pickup store is closed, the transfer may fail.
Solution:
- Verify that the pickup location ID is correct on the order
- Try changing the delivery method to a different pickup location or direct delivery
Incorrect API credentials
If your GLS API credentials are incorrect, no transfers will work. You can find them under Delivery → Setup in the GLS section.
Check the following fields:
- API Username, your GLS API login
- API Password, your GLS API password
- Customer ID, your GLS customer number
- Contact ID, your GLS contact ID
