Remove a user from your shop
Guide to removing a user from your business in Shoporama admin.
You can remove users who no longer need access to your store's admin panel. This could be, for example, a former employee or a business partner.
How to remove a user

- Go to Company → Users in the menu
- Find the user you want to remove
- Click the user’s name or the pencil icon (Edit) next to the user, and then click the Remove User button
- Confirm that you want to remove the user from the company
Only the company administrator can remove users. Your own user account does not have an edit link in the list, so you cannot remove yourself from here.
What happens?
When you remove a user:
- The user loses all access to the company’s online stores in the admin panel
- The user’s actions and history are preserved (orders they’ve processed, etc.)
- The removal is recorded in the activity log as “User Removed”
- The user cannot be restored: if the person needs access again, you must recreate the user using “Create New User” and select the role again. If you use the same email address, the person will not receive a new email but will log in with their existing password. If the person has forgotten it, you can send a link to reset the password from the user’s page, provided the person is only part of your company. Otherwise, the person can click “Forgot your password? ” on the login page
- All connections the user has established to the store via “Log in with Shoporama” will be revoked and will stop working. This applies, for example, to Claude, the POS app, and the scanner app
- API keys under Integrations → API Access that were created by a user with Full Access will not be deleted because they belong to the store and not to the user. However, a key that the user created themselves with a role other than Full Access—such as Developer—is linked to the user and will stop working
- If the user is selected as the Default user under Web Store → General, the user will continue to receive system emails such as inventory alerts and return notifications until you select another user and click Save. The field no longer displays the removed user, so it may appear correct even though the emails are still being sent to that person. See Which user receives system emails?
If you only remove the user’s access to one of your stores, the user’s connections to that specific store will stop working. You can do this on the Edit User page by unchecking the box next to the online store on the Online Stores tab and clicking Save. The tab is only displayed when the company has multiple online stores.
If the user has an API key, such as for an integration or a script, you must delete it manually under Integrations → API Access and, if necessary, create a new one for the integration. Create the new key as a user with Full Access so that it is not tied to a single employee’s role. Read more in Find or Create an API Key.
Note
You cannot remove the company’s sole company administrator. If you try, you’ll see the message “This user is the company’s sole company administrator. First, make another user the company administrator." If someone else is to take over, first make the new person the company administrator using the "Company Administrator" option under " Edit User." The new company administrator can then remove you. If you need help, contact support@shoporama.dk.
