Table editing
Table editing (formerly known as bulk editing) is a feature in Shoporama that allows you to edit multiple products at once in a spreadsheet-like interface. You select the products in the product overview, choose which fields to display as columns, and edit directly in the table.
What is table editing?
Table editing is Shoporama’s spreadsheet-like tool for updating multiple products at once. Instead of opening each product individually, you can view all the selected products as rows in a table and edit the fields directly in the cells, just like in Excel or Google Sheets.
This feature was previously called “bulk editing,” but has been renamed “table editing ” to better describe how it works.
How to open Table Editing
- Go to Products in the left-hand menu
- Select the products you want to edit (filter first if necessary)
- Click “Table Editing ” in the action menu
- Select which columns you want to include, and click Apply
Which fields can be edited?
You can choose from many different product fields as columns:
- Prices: price, sale price, cost price, promotion period
- Inventory: stock on hand, warehouse location, package, allow negative inventory
- Identification: SKU, secondary SKU, GTIN, MPN
- SEO: meta title, meta description, Google Shopping title, address, canonical, noindex
- Shipping: weight, shipping cost, delivery time
- Environmental data: packaging, WEEE category, batteries, EPR number
- Display: online/offline, delete, hide from Google Shopping, Partner Ads, and PriceRunner
- Product attributes: all attributes from the product profile
Your field selections are saved locally in the browser so you don’t have to select them again next time.
What can you do in the table?
- Click directly in a cell and enter a new value
- Sort by any column by clicking on the header
- Add new products directly in the table using " Add Row"
- Delete products using the delete column
- Set products to online or offline
- Include variants as separate rows if you want to edit variant data
Press Cmd+S (Mac) or Ctrl+S (Windows) to save. If you try to navigate away with unsaved changes, Shoporama will warn you so you don’t lose your work.
When is table editing useful?
Table editing saves time when you need to make uniform changes across many products. Typical use cases:
- Adjusting prices or sale prices before a campaign
- Updating inventory levels after a count
- Filling out or improving SEO fields for an entire category
- Updating SKUs, GTINs, or delivery times for a supplier’s products
- Quickly taking a group of products offline or online
Table editing and CSV import
For small or medium-sized updates, table editing is the fastest tool because you work directly in the admin panel without having to export and import files. If you need to update several thousand products or fields that aren’t columns in the table, a CSV or JSON import is typically a better solution.
