The search function is your best salesperson
Customers who search your online store have a clear intention to buy. That’s why the search function is one of the most important factors for your conversion rate. At Shoporama, we use the internationally recognized search engine Elasticsearch —the same technology used by Netflix, Microsoft, and Shopify.
This means you get a world-class search function without paying extra.
Spelling tolerance
Your customers don’t always spell things correctly—and they shouldn’t have to. Elastic Search finds the right products despite spelling errors. If a customer searches for “Indians” or “pettit crabe,” the search engine will still find the correct results.
Synonyms and Search Terms
Do you sell aluminum foil? Then some customers will search for “silver paper” or “aluminum foil.” Elastic Search can’t guess synonyms, but you can easily add additional keywords to your products. Going forward, the product will be found regardless of which synonym the customer uses.
Zero-results searches and search analytics
Shoporama tracks what your customers are searching for—and what they can’t find. When a search yields 0 results, we record it as a 0-search. You can view a comprehensive overview and easily associate the missing keywords with the correct products.

Over time, your search function will get better and better because you’re constantly adapting it to your customers’ actual language and needs. You can also track zero-results searches in Google Analytics.
Exclude products from search
Not all products need to be discoverable via search. Shipping labels, packaging, or second-grade items can be excluded with a single checkbox so they don’t clutter search results.
Fast and scalable
Whether you have 50 or 50,000 products, Elastic Search delivers results in milliseconds. The search runs on dedicated servers, so it never affects your online store’s speed.
A search feature that works for you
With Shoporama’s search feature, you don’t just get a search bar—you get a complete tool for understanding your customers and optimizing your online store. That’s the difference between a search that just finds things and one that sells.
