EAN
What is EAN?
EAN (European Article Number), also known as GTIN-13, is a 13-digit number used as a unique identification of products worldwide. The barcode is seen on virtually all physical products and makes it possible to scan items at the checkout, in inventory management and in online shopping.
Why is EAN important for webshops?
In e-commerce, EAN codes are used to identify products in product feeds, price comparison sites like PriceRunner and Google Shopping, and in inventory management. Without EAN, products cannot be matched correctly across platforms.
In Shoporama, you can enter the EAN number (as well as other product numbers like SKU and MPN) on each product during product editing. The EAN code is automatically included in your product feeds.
