EAN
What is EAN?
EAN (European Article Number), also known as GTIN-13, is a 13-digit number used to uniquely identify products worldwide. The barcode appears on virtually all physical products and enables items to be scanned at the checkout, in inventory management, and in online retail.
Why is EAN important for online stores?
In e-commerce, EAN codes are used to identify products in product feeds, on price comparison sites such as PriceRunner and Google Shopping, and in inventory management. Without an EAN, products cannot be correctly matched across platforms.
In Shoporama, you can enter the EAN number (as well as other product numbers such as SKU and MPN) for each product during product editing. The EAN code is automatically included in your product feeds.
