Fulfillment covers the entire process from receiving an order until it is packed, shipped and delivered to the customer.

What is fulfillment?

Fulfillment (order processing) is the entire process from the moment a customer places an order until the item is delivered. It includes order processing, picking and packing, shipping, tracking, and any returns processing.

Fulfillment Models

  • In-house – you handle inventory and shipping yourself
  • 3PL – a third party handles inventory and shipping for you
  • Dropshipping – the supplier ships directly to the customer

Effective fulfillment is crucial for customer satisfaction. Fast delivery, accurate shipments, and easy returns processing are key factors in keeping customers satisfied and encouraging repeat purchases.
