Shopejer

Shoporama's POS (Point of Sale) is a complete point-of-sale system that you can use in your physical store. It runs directly in your browser, syncs with your online store, and you log in with your Shoporama account. You can search for products, scan barcodes, select the customer, add items to the cart, and create orders with the same prices and discounts that the customer would receive online.

The POS is accessible via shoporama.dk/pos. Log in with your Shoporama account:

  1. Go to shoporama.dk/pos in your browser
  2. Click " Log in with Shoporama"
  3. Select which online store you want to use the POS with
  4. Authorize access, and you’re logged in

Once you’re logged in, you’ll see your store name and a counter for today’s orders at the top of the screen.

User Interface

The POS has a clean, modern design optimized for both desktop and tablet:

  • Left side: product search and product grid with images, prices, and stock status
  • Right side: shopping cart with item list, quantity, and total price
  • Top menu: store name, order counter, order history, settings, and logout

On mobile and tablet, the cart slides in from the right side, and there is a bottom menu with quick access to the cart and checkout.

Search and Add Products

You can find products in two ways:

  • Search: Enter the product name, item number, or barcode in the search field. Results appear in real time
  • Scan barcode: Tap the scan button (or F8) to open the camera and scan a barcode. The product is found automatically

Click on a product to add it to your cart. If the product has variants (such as size or color), select the desired variant first.

When you select a product, the product card also shows which discounts apply: sale price, volume and tiered discounts, active promotions with names and expiration dates, and, for bundle packs, what the pack contains. This allows you to immediately respond to a customer who asks about the price or a special offer.

If an item has an age restriction (for example, 16 or 18 years), a small warning appears on the item so that staff are aware of the restriction and remember to check ID.

Tip: After you’ve created 3 or more orders, the POS automatically displays your best-selling and most recently sold products, so you can quickly add popular items.

More info about an item

If you need to tell a customer more about a product, you can open “More Info” on the product. Here you’ll see the product description, the discounts and promotions it’s part of, and—for bundle packs—the individual items with images. This feature is designed for situations where you’re in the store and a customer asks about a product.

Barcode Scanner

The POS has a built-in barcode scanner that uses your camera. It works on all devices with a camera and requires no special hardware:

  1. Press the scan button or press F8
  2. Grant the browser access to the camera (only the first time)
  3. Point the camera at the barcode
  4. The product is identified and automatically added to the cart

The scanner matches the barcode against the product’s SKU and EAN codes.

Shopping Cart

The shopping cart appears on the right side of the screen and is updated continuously. You can:

  • Adjust the quantity using the plus and minus buttons or enter the quantity directly
  • Remove individual items from the cart
  • Empty the entire shopping cart
  • View the total price, including tax

The shopping cart displays the correct prices immediately. If an item is on sale, has a volume discount, is part of a promotion, or is a bundle, you’ll see the discounted price directly in the shopping cart. Bundles are displayed with their contents so you can see what’s included in the package.

If a product is close to the next quantity or tier, the cart also displays a small upsell prompt, such as “Buy 2 more for a lower price per item.” This makes it easy to offer the customer the better price while you’re at the checkout.

Select a customer

In the POS, you can link the sale to a specific customer. Click the customer selector and search for the customer by name, email, phone number, company name, or business registration number. It works the same way as when a sales associate looks up your membership number in a physical store.

Once you’ve selected a customer, several things happen automatically:

  • The customer is charged their own prices. If the customer has a business or group price, the entire cart is calculated using those prices. Read more in Customer Groups and B2B Prices
  • The order is linked to the customer, so the purchase is included in the customer’s history
  • Loyalty points can be redeemed if you have the loyalty program active

If you’ve selected a customer in the customer selector, you cannot enter another customer in the checkout itself at the same time. This ensures that the order is always linked to the correct customer.

Checkout and Orders

When you’re ready to complete the sale, click “Complete Order” (or press F9). During checkout, you can:

  • Customer Information: Add the customer’s email (optional) and phone number. If you’ve already selected a customer in the customer selector, these fields are pre-filled
  • Discount code: Enter a discount code (voucher or gift card). The system calculates the discount and applies it correctly to the order. Learn more in Create a Discount Code
  • Loyalty Points: Redeem the customer’s points as a discount. Only displayed when the loyalty program is active
  • Manual discount: Apply an additional discount as a fixed amount or percentage on top of the automatic discounts. The total price is updated in real time
  • Add to Customer Club: If you enter the customer’s email address, you can add them to your customer club. The customer will receive a welcome email with login information
  • Subscribe to newsletter: Subscribe the customer to your newsletter directly from the POS
  • Send Invoice: Send an order confirmation or invoice to the customer’s email
  • Note: Add an internal note to the order

If the customer’s email matches an existing customer in your online store, the order is automatically linked to the customer’s account so that the POS order is included in the customer’s order history. The order is created directly in Shoporama and automatically tagged with a POS label, so you can easily filter POS orders from online store orders. Inventory is updated automatically, including for individual items in a bundle.

The price at checkout is the same as what the customer would see in the online store. The POS system does not calculate prices on its own. It uses the same engine as your online store checkout, so special offers, volume discounts, tiered discounts, bundle deals, promotions, discount codes, group prices, and points always match. The sum of the line items plus any adjustments gives the exact total, ensuring the order is consistent in the accounting records.

Customer Club and Newsletter

The POS makes it easy to expand your customer database directly from the physical store. When you enter the customer’s email at checkout, you can:

  • Add the customer to the loyalty program: The customer is registered in your online store and receives a welcome email with login information. This gives the customer access to their order history, reorders, and other customer benefits
  • Sign them up for the newsletter: The customer is automatically subscribed to your newsletter, so you can send them offers and news in the future

These two options are independent of each other. If the customer already exists, the order is linked to their existing account without creating a new one. The fields only appear if you have enabled the newsletter module or the loyalty program in your online store.

Order History

Click the Orders button(or press F7) to view today’s orders. Here you can:

  • Search orders by order number or email
  • Mark orders as paid
  • Cancel orders

Terminal Settings

In the settings, you can configure:

  • Country: Select the delivery country (affects VAT and shipping options)
  • Shipping method: Select the default shipping method for POS orders
  • Payment method: Select the default payment method (MobilePay, card, invoice, etc.)

Keyboard Shortcuts

The POS supports keyboard shortcuts for quick operation:

  • F7: Open order history
  • F8: Start barcode scanner
  • F9: Open checkout
  • ESC: Close all windows

Mobile-friendly

The POS is fully responsive and works on tablets and smartphones. On mobile devices, the buttons are larger, the shopping cart slides in from the side, and the barcode scanner uses the device’s camera. This means you can use a tablet as a point-of-sale terminal in your store without needing any additional hardware.

Do you want to let customers serve themselves?

If you want customers to be able to shop entirely without a sales associate, you can set up a self-service POS where customers scan items on their own phones and pay online. Learn more in Self-Service POS.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will customers see the same price at the checkout as in the online store?

Yes. The POS uses the same pricing engine as your online store checkout, so special offers, volume discounts, bundle deals, promotions, discount codes, and group prices are calculated the same way. What the cart shows is also what the order is booked at.

How do I give a business customer their own prices in the store?

Search for the customer in the customer selector by name, company name, or CVR number, and select them. The entire cart will then be calculated using the customer’s own group prices. Read more in Customer Groups and B2B Prices.

Can I use a discount code at the POS?

Yes. Enter the discount code at checkout, and the system will calculate the discount and apply it to the order. Read more in Create a Discount Code.

Is inventory deducted correctly when I sell a bundle?

Yes. When you sell a bundle in the POS, inventory for the individual items is automatically deducted, just as it is in the online store.

What should I do if an item has an age restriction?

If you’ve set an age restriction on the item, a warning will appear for the item in the product grid, shopping cart, and info window, so you’ll remember to verify the customer’s age at checkout.

Can I offer an additional discount on top of the promotions?

Yes. At checkout, you can apply a manual discount as a fixed amount or a percentage on top of the automatic discounts. The total is updated immediately.

Do POS orders count toward the customer’s history and statistics?

Yes. If you link the order to a customer (or if the email matches an existing customer), the purchase is included in the customer’s history, and all POS orders are included in your statistics.

How do I distinguish POS orders from online store orders?

All POS orders are automatically tagged with a POS label, so you can easily filter them in the order overview.

Do I need a specific scanner or terminal?

No. The POS uses the device’s own camera to scan barcodes, so a regular tablet or phone is sufficient.
