Take products offline when they are out of stock
Guide to control whether out of stock products are shown or hidden automatically in your Shoporama online store.
When a product is out of stock, you have several options for how it is displayed in your online store. You can show it with "Out of stock" text, hide it automatically or let the customer sign up for stock notifications.
Show or hide out of stock products
Under Settings > Online shop, you can choose whether to show out of stock products in categories and search results. If you hide them, they are still available via direct link, but they will not appear in listings.
Sorting: Stock items at the top
Another approach is to keep out of stock products visible but show them at the bottom. In the category editor, under Advanced, you can select the sorting method Stock items on top. This way, in-stock products will always appear before out-of-stock products.
Stock notification
Instead of hiding out-of-stock products, you can enable stock notification. This allows your customers to enter their email address and be notified when the product is back in stock. Read more in the article Stock notification.
Variants and stock
If a product has variants, the product is shown as "in stock" as long as at least one variant is in stock. Only when all variants are sold out will the product be shown as out of stock. Read more in the article Show out-of-stock variants.
