PSP - Payment Service Provider

A PSP (Payment Service Provider) is a provider that handles online payments and connects your webshop with banks and card networks.

What is a PSP?

A PSP (Payment Service Provider), also known as a payment gateway, is a service that processes online payments for online stores. The PSP acts as an intermediary between your online store, the customer’s bank, and the card networks (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).

PSPs in Denmark

The most popular PSPs for Danish online stores are:

  • QuickPay – a Danish PSP with broad card support
  • Stripe – an international PSP with simple integration
  • Nets/Bambora – a major Nordic payment provider
  • Adyen – an enterprise solution for larger online stores
