SMTP

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is the protocol used to send emails. An SMTP server handles the sending of emails from webshops.

What is SMTP?

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is the standard protocol used to send emails over the internet. When your online shop sends order confirmations, shipping emails or newsletters, it is done via an SMTP server.

SMTP in online shops

To ensure that your webshop emails reach your customers' inboxes (and don't end up in spam), it's important to use a reliable SMTP solution. This includes properly setting up DNS records such as SPF, DKIM and DMARC.

Shoporama handles email sending automatically, but you can also set up your own SMTP server or use third-party mail services for greater control over delivery rates.
