SMTP

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is the protocol used to send emails. An SMTP server handles the sending of emails from webshops.

What is SMTP?

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is the standard protocol used to send emails over the Internet. When your online store sends order confirmations, shipping notifications, or newsletters, it does so via an SMTP server.

SMTP in Online Stores

To ensure that emails from your online store reach your customers’ inboxes (and don’t end up in spam), it’s important to use a reliable SMTP solution. This includes correctly configuring DNS records such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.

Shoporama handles email delivery automatically, but you can also configure your own SMTP server or use third-party email services for greater control over the delivery rate.
