Here is an overview of the cookies that a Shoporama online store may set. Use this list when drafting or updating your cookie and privacy policy. Some cookies are set on every visit, while others are set only when a specific feature is in use.

Essential and Functional Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the store to function and do not require consent:

Cookie Purpose Lifetime
PHPSESSIDSession ID that tracks the customer’s visit, including the shopping cart and checkoutUntil the browser is closed

Campaign cookies

These cookies are set only when the customer arrives at the store via a specific link and are used to link orders to the correct campaign:

Cookie Purpose Lifetime
nl_cid and nl_sidLinks visits and purchases to a newsletter sent from Shoporama’s newsletter system30 days
mc_cid and mc_eidLinks visits and purchases to a Mailchimp campaign when the customer clicks a link in the campaign30 days
pa_partnerid and pacidAffiliate tracking when the customer arrives via a Partner Ads link40 days

Tracking cookies for server-side tracking

If you have enabled Shoporama’s built-in tracking, the following are also set:

Cookie Purpose Lifetime
cFPIDFirst-party ID used by Shoporama’s tracking infrastructure to recognize the browser across visits2 years
FPIDFirst-party ID set by the tracking server. Cannot be read by JavaScript and is therefore protected against misuseSet by the tracking server

Third-party cookies

In addition to Shoporama’s own cookies, your enabled tracking tools set their own cookies. The most common ones are:

  • Google Analytics: _ga and _gid
  • Meta (Facebook): _fbp and _fbc
  • Google Ads: _gcl_au
  • Microsoft Ads: _uetsid and _uetvid
  • TikTok: _ttp

Third-party cookies are used for statistics and marketing and therefore require the customer’s consent before they can be set.

Essential cookies vs. tracking cookies

Cookies that are technically necessary for the online store (shopping cart, login, payment) may be set without consent. All cookies for analytics and marketing, however, require active consent from the customer before they can be set. Shoporama’s free cookie consent app handles this automatically: It blocks tracking cookies until the customer has given consent and categorizes them as analytics or marketing. Read more in “Cookie Consent and Consent Mode v2” and about the legal requirements in the GDPR and cookie regulations for your online store.

Sporing-siden i Shoporama-admin med sporingsindstillinger, hvor Brug Consent Mode er slået til sammen med Aktiver sporing og server-side tracking.
On the Tracking page, you can enable Consent Mode. This ensures that analytics and marketing cookies are only set once the customer has given consent via the cookie banner.

Tip

Keep your cookie policy up to date with all the cookies your store sets. This applies to both Shoporama’s own cookies from this list and third-party cookies from the integrations you’ve enabled.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to list all cookies in my cookie policy?

Yes. Your policy must describe which cookies the store sets, their purpose, and their lifespan. Use this overview as a starting point, and add cookies from your own integrations and tracking tools.

Why can’t I see all cookies in my own browser?

Many of them are only set in specific situations, such as when a customer logs in, closes a newsletter pop-up, arrives via a campaign link, or when the store runs an A/B test.

Does Shoporama set tracking cookies without consent?

The cookie consent app blocks analytics and marketing cookies in the browser until the customer has given consent. Necessary and functional cookies are always set, as the store cannot function otherwise.

How long is the customer’s consent stored?

Consent is stored in the `shoporama_consent` cookie with a timestamp and is valid for up to 12 months. After that, the customer is asked to confirm their consent again.

I use Cookiebot. Can I still use this list?

Yes. The list applies regardless of which consent solution you use. External solutions are inserted via HTML fields, and cookies from this overview must still be listed in your policy.

HTML-felter under Webshop i Shoporama-admin med et felt kaldet cookiebot, hvor Cookiebot-scriptet er indsat med placeringen sidst i head.
On the HTML Fields page under Webshop, you can insert external consent solutions such as Cookiebot. Each field is assigned a tag name and a location, such as at the end of the head section.
