Stepper discount on products

Guide to creating staircase discounts so customers get increasing discounts when buying more of the same product.

Staircase discounts give the customer an increasing discount the more pieces they buy of a product. For example, 10% discount for 3 pieces, 15% for 5 pieces and 20% for 10 pieces.

How to set up staircase discounts

  1. Go to Products and click Edit on the product
  2. Go to the Prices tab
  3. Under Staircase discount, add levels
  4. For each level, enter the quantity and price per piece.
  5. Click Save

Example: Example

Quantity Price per piece Savings
1-2 pcs.100 kr.-
3-4 pcs.90 kr.10%
5+ pcs.80 kr.20%

Display in the shop

The staircase discount is automatically shown on the product page so the customer can see the price benefits of buying more. The appearance depends on your theme.

Difference from quantity discount

  • Stepper discount - discount based on quantity of one product
  • Volume discount - discount based on total number of products in the cart
  • Discount code - discount activated with a code at checkout
